Feikje Boertjens

(The Netherlands, 1978)
Illustrator, Graphic Designer, Musician

Since she was born, Feikje always followed her creative talents in arts and music.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration in 2002 (HKU, University of the Arts Utrecht, NL), she has been illustrating and designing for many years for a wide range of clients, such as the Dutch Sesame Street, Microsoft and recognized Dutch publishers.
She created her own children’s books which were published in Holland and Belgium.

In 2002 she also started her flamenco education and studied flamencoguitar at the Fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco in Seville. In 2008 she earned her propaedeutic diploma in Flamenco Guitar at the Rotterdam Conservatory (Codarts) with master guitarist Paco Peña.

Her autonomous art work has a strong illustrative and scenographic character. The imaginary worlds she creates, inhabited by mysterious creatures, are a reflection of the playful, mischievous and whimsical side of life. Her greatest source of inspiration is the pureness and innocence of animals, the incredible and incomprehensible beauty of nature and the infinite world of music.

Feikje is also a singer and flamenco guitarplayer at Zarzamora.
